Visit to Santa

I know it has been a while since our last post, but we have been BUSY! However, I know my faithful blog readers have been anxiously awaiting my next post (hope this makes you happy Kim :)) So, here is a recap of what we have been up to. The weekend after Thanksgiving we went to St. Louis for Ethan's 2nd birthday party. It is very hard to believe that he is already 2 - we definitely got a preview of Luke in about a year. While we were there, we went to visit Santa. We tried to get a picture of both boys on Santa's lap, but Ethan wanted NOTHING to do with Santa - so this is the picture we got. We forgot his "good" shoes, so he has on some that don't match, but just ignore that.

11 Months Old

So hard to believe that Luke is 11 months old and will be a toddler soon. He is definitely developing his own personality. I am told on a fairly regular basis that he is going to be a troublemaker - but when you look at this face, how could you possibly think that?

Luke's First Haircut

Well, we finally did it. After Luke was mistaken for a girl 3 times in the past few weeks, we knew it was time for a haircut - at least we are hoping that is why he was mistaken for a girl. We got a cute little certificate with locks of hair and before and after pictures. It wasn't that I didn't want him to have a haircut, I was more scared of scissors being so close to his face. The lady that cut his hair was very good, he behaved nicely and all is well.

Here are some before pictures:

And after...

Who knew they made baby pomade?

9 Month Professional Photos

For those of you that aren't on Facebook, I have posted Luke's 9-month pictures to our blog. They are adorable. I would highly recommend our photographer, Diana Oliver, to anyone in the KC area. Her website is http://www.oliverkc.com/. She is fabulous.

Everyone tells me that one day he will kill me for making him wear these hats - I think they are so cute. Oh well, I think he looks adorable in them. He loves to clap - he gets so excited when you do it with him.

10 Months Old

It has been a while since our last post, but not too much is new in our household. Luke does more and more stuff every day - he pulls up like a pro, can "cruise" around all the furniture and crawls very fast. We are getting very excited for Thanksgiving for him to try turkey and mashed potatoes. Doesn't it look like he is reading this?

Happy Halloween!

Lucas cleaned up on his first Halloween. Everywhere we went, he was given a "treat". We first visited Ernst & Young. He really enjoyed flirting with all of the ladies in my office. He also had fun playing "football" with Reggie. Next we went to Grandma Penny's. Then we went to Grandpa Jerry's to see Grandpa and Kelly and finished up at Grandma and Papa Burrell's. Everyone thought he was an adorable monkey. But, you can decide for yourself.

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

Lucas visited his first pumpkin patch. We went with the Dekker's. After extensive research, Kim decided that the KC Pumpkin Patch in Gardner was the best around. We chose one of the coldest days of the year so far, but had a nice time.

We Knew It Was Coming...

Lucas has mastered pulling himself up in his bed and standing up. I put him in there this morning as I was putting away his laundry from the week and to my surprise, he started trying to get out. Richard is working on lowering the mattress as I type this to avoid any unnecessary spills.

9 Months Old

Luke is now 9 months old - can you believe it. Here are a few pics of him. In case you can't tell, his shirt says "Lock Up Your Daughters". He is quite the heartbreaker, isn't he?

Little Prisoner

Now that Luke is somewhat mobile, we have had to block off the stairs. He doesn't seem to mind too much!

My First Tooth

We had a pretty low key weekend since the past few have been a little hectic and I've been traveling quite a bit for work (I was in Chicago for 4 days last week and am flying out bright and early tomorrow morning). We ran a lot of errands and caught up a little around the house. So, I don't have anything too terribly exciting to blog about. But, I think Luke's first tooth is up enough that you can see it in pictures, so decided that I would post that. I think his second bottom tooth might also be coming in, but it is hard to tell right now.

See the white spot on the right of the picture? If so, that is his tooth.

Scooter!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later, but Luke has become mobile! This past weekend he was scooting around a few feet and then growing tired of the effort. However, when he went back to daycare on Monday after a three day hiatus, he surprised his teacher by starting to scoot all over the place. Every day he is becoming more and more mobile. As a matter of fact, when I went to pick up Luke from daycare today I was surprise to find him in a playpen, while both of the teachers were busy feeding other babies. It turns out that the teachers were too busy with the feedings to keep him out of trouble, he was going around terrorizing the other kids in his class by stealing their pacifiers right out of their mouths! Attached to the post is a video of Luke scooting around this afternoon. Enjoy!

Rocker Boy

Well, Luke's music preference has come out, as evidenced by this picture here. He is a rocker just like his Dad!

Visit to Deanna Rose

My sister and nephew came to town for the weekend, so the whole family packed up and headed for Deanna Rose Farmstead. It was a gorgeous day and the boys had fun feeding the baby goats and walking around. Here are a few pictures from the festivities.
