Feed Me!
Well, we finally broke the pediatricians rules and started Luke on rice cereal. A girlfriend of mine goes to the same pediatric practice and her doctor said they could start on rice cereal at 5 1/2 months. So, I decided that we could do the same. Here are a few pictures of Luke with his first meal - he seems to be getting the hang of it now and we are up to 2 bowls of rice cereal a day. When I say bowls, I am being pretty generous - he only eats 1 tbsp at each meal. But, he seems to enjoy the change of pace.

Luke's Baptism
Luke was baptized on Saturday night. We had a number of friends and family attend the services and BBQ afterward. Here are a few pictures from the service.

Luke did great at the baptism - he didn't cry at all. We think we may not have to sit in the infant room at church anymore - I guess we'll see.

5 Months Old
What a weekend - Richard celebrated his first Father's Day and Luke turned 5 months old on Saturday. It is so hard to believe - the time has gone by so quickly. Luke was in typical form when we were taking pictures - he usually has his mouth wide open like a baby bird and these pictures are no exception. He is still only rolling over from his back to his stomach and gets really frustrated because he can't go back the other way - we try to help him, but I'm not sure if it is helping or not. He may just be getting lazy because he knows if he screams loud enough that we will roll him back over.
As soon as you put him on his back, he rolls to his tummy. At this particular moment he was enjoying his tummy time.

Summer is finally here...
Since it has been a while since our last post, I'll fill you in on a few things. First of all, Luke is rolling around like crazy. He is great from his back to his stomach. When he feels like it, he will roll from him stomach to his back, but he hasn't mastered that one as well, yet. Usually he just screams and one of us will roll him back over. Also, he is loving to play in his exersaucer. I wasn't putting him in it much because he sort of slouches over everytime that I do. One of my co-workers suggested putting a stuffed animal in behind him and that helps him sit up better - it has worked like a charm. Thanks Jill! We've also taken Luke swimming a few times - our neighborhood pool is open, but we haven't braved that one yet. We have been going to the YMCA pool. It takes him some time to get used to it, but when he does he seems to enjoy it. He is starting swimming lessons in July.
We watched Bogart for a weekend while my parents were in Aruba. Bogart thinks it is his number one job to protect Luke at all times.
I thought this looked like he was giving a little attitude with his hand on his hip.
Taking a nap - he still doesn't really sleep very long. A cat napper, but here is a rare moment when he is asleep.
Baxter thinks his job is to make sure that he gives Luke lots of kisses right in the face. Luke doesn't seem to mind though - he smiles every time that Baxter comes near him.
I forgot to mention above that Luke does like to sleep if you are sleeping with him. Isn't this cute?

This weekend Luke turns 5 months old! We will post more pictures then.
